Stuctured dynamsism

Here is one of my projects for my Styling for Visual Presentation class at FIT. We had to choose and style 3 garments that were cohesive and created a strong trend to present them in a runway show.

We immediately fell in love with a 2nd year fashion design student- Samju- who focuses on a monochrome palette and strong silhouettes within her clothing, as well as combing contrasting materials, such as leather and felt. Her pieces are similar to an art form, and we wanted to showcase this on the runway.

The hair and makeup was simple and clean to compliment the garments. It was all very structured, from the slicked back hair, to the stripe down the eye to emphasis the overall design construction.

The first look was a mid-length simple yet structured dress. An asymmetric cut and side slit being one of the few features. We accessorized the look with strong, statement boots to continue the dynamic trend.

The second look we styled was a dramatic winter coat. The coat needed to be the main emphasis so we combined it with leather-look leggings and a simple black T along with the statement boots to create a fluid powerful look.

The finale look showcased the evening dress, which has a beautiful, interesting cut, high neck and again featuring the cut out slit sides. We accessorized this outfit with a simple leather bag to create a more 'evening' look.

Our trend worked cohesively and proved to be a successful line :)
